What We Offer
Visceral Manipulation Therapy
Visceral manipulation is a method of treating your internal organs and related connective tissues, blood vessels, and nerves. I have been trained by the Barral Institute, whose method of evaluation and treatment is gentle and congruent with your body's specific needs.
Organs, like all cells in your body, need to be able to move freely and in coordination with their neighbors. Unfortunately, different circumstances such as diseases, scar tissue, and trauma can create restrictions around our organs, causing them to have decreased mobility and difficulty operating at optimal levels. Symptoms or organ dysfunction can be apparent, such as: constipation, heartburn, abdominal/pelvic pain, or hormone imbalance. However, organ restrictions can be less obvious when they produce symptoms far removed from the source, such as pain in the shoulders, back, or neck. Symptoms like insomnia and anxiety can often be related to our internal organs as well. It is not uncommon for people to have orthopedic problems that do not resolve with traditional physical therapy, only to find out that the restriction was related to an organ. Visceral manipulation helps to release these tissue restrictions and restore the mobility in organs that have been affected.
Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy is a treatment method that uses extremely light touch to enhance the mobility of the central nervous system (CNS). Our brains and spinal cords are bathed in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) that naturally flushes in and out within the meningeal layers that keep the system pressurized. These tissues can become restricted due to a multitude of factors including, but not limited to: sports injuries, disc protrusions, infections, stroke, surgery, and traumatic brain injuries. Symptoms of CSF and meningeal restriction can have far reaching side effects since the CNS has connections with our entire body. Craniosacral technique has made incredible changes for many people with headaches, emotional stress, bodily pain, and fatigue.
Reiki
Reiki is the practice of channeling the "Universal Life Force Energy" that is naturally flowing around everything to a person. Doing reiki clears energy blockages allowing qi (ki or chi) to flow freely once again and assist healing on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. People often feel extremely relaxed after a session, in ways they have never experienced before.
